Red Wine Apple Cider Sangria

Ingredients
  • 10 cups good quality apple cider
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tsp whole cloves
  • 14 cinnamon sticks (extra to garnish)
  • 2 tsp ground allspice
  • 2 oranges, sliced into rounds
  • 1 large apple, sliced into long strips
  • 5 bottles Cabernet or red blend
  • 3 cups Brandy
  • 2 cups orange juice
Instructions
  1. Add apple cider, cloves, 10 cinnamon sticks, allspice and rounds from one orange to a pot and bring to boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer 5-6 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool thoroughly.
  4. Mix with wine, brandy, orange juice, additional cinnamon sticks, orange rounds and apple slices.
  5. Allow to sit overnight.
  6. Pour into drink dispensers, punch bowl or pitches to serve.
  7. Garnish with additional cinnamon and apple slices.
