In a large skillet over medium-high heat add 1 can of beer and the granulated sugar. Bring to a slight simmer.
Add dogs and turn every now and then to coat until they're plump and have a syrup glaze. (About 8-10 minutes).
Remove dogs and transfer to the grill. Grill until they have a nice sear (5-8 minutes).
In a large skillet add brown sugar, sauerkraut and the remaining can of beer. Add a little salt and pepper. Bring to a slight simmer over medium-high heat stirring frequently for about 5 minutes.
Place dogs in grilled buns, drizzle with some remaining beer-syrup.
Top with sauerkraut, spicy mustard and ketchup.
