Jeff Ruby's

Published: May 18, 2019 by Laura Lee · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

Happy Friday!! If you're looking for somewhere amazing to dine at this weekend (or anytime) in Columbus I highly recommend Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse. Located downtown on Nationwide Blvd, however they also have locations in Cinci, Louisville, Lexington and Nashville. Food is to die and so are their cocktails and wine list.

I tried out their Orange-Chili Gimlet (gin with some spice? sign me up) and the Old Fashioned. Both were suburb.  The cocktail menu has since changed (as it does frequently), so I can't wait to go back ASAP and try out the new additions!

For an appetizer we ordered the tuna cubes which were served with strawberries, Asian pear, basil, sesame pistachio, granola and a miso soy reduction. I wasn't totally sure how these flavors would all come together, but I learn on a weekly basis how many different ways you can serve tuna and this one was definitely impressive!

I also had to order a few oysters, because apparently it's physically impossible for me to go anywhere that has tuna and/or oysters on the menu and not order them. Ruby's has a pretty cool raw bar. I got two Blue Point (top left) and one Naked Cowboy.

We also split a sushi roll. The Hamachi Chuukara Roll came with Serrano-Spiked Spicy Yellowtail, cucumber, shaved scallion, honey yuzu glaze, kaiware, and was wrapped with Yellowtail & avocado. I would go back just for sushi and drinks.

For my entree I got the Steak Collinsworth and holy shit. It was melt in your mouth, wish I had 10 more, amazing. The dish consisted of Filet Mignon, crab, Bearnaise and asparagus.

Brad got the 22 oz Cowboy steak which was a dry aged bone-in ribeye. I'm not the biggest ribeye fan but what I tried I liked and he said amazing things.

We ordered the loaded potato gratin as our side dish and let's be honest you can never go wrong with this dish. Ruby's was no exception.

On top of the amazing food was the just as amazing service. We had the best time getting to know our server and he was so prompt and on top of everything.

The ambiance was another factor that was straight up my alley.

Even the bathroom decor. (I have these shoes LOL).

Overall verdict? We will be back quite often and you should be too! Thanks Jeff Ruby's!
