Blackberry Caipirinha

Published: Apr 13, 2018 by Laura Lee · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

It's Friday post-work and 80 degrees so I am one happy gal! I've been patient as hell and continued to say the snow is pretty blah blah whatever but when I had to go into work Monday morning in the snow... in mid APRIL I was done. SO. very. done. Now I'm soaking up every ounce of sun I can get, because apparently its going to snow again Monday. I can't. We also just booked our honeymoon in Turks & Caicos and picked a weekend for my bachelorette in Nashville so I'm clinging to lots more warm weather fun in the near future.

Speaking of warm weather appropriate things I'm currently sitting on my back patio while writing to all you fine people and sipping on the above cocktail I just mixed and photoed. **Fun fact** Caipirinha's are the official cocktail of Brazil AND the most popular drink in the world. Marinate on that for a sec. I first started mixing them at a cocktail bar I worked at about 5 years ago. Cachaça is key. You can use regular rum. But you'd be wrong. Cachaça is a delicious Brazilian rum that is made from fresh sugarcane rather than molasses like the rum we're used to in the states. In this version I mix it with lots of lime, simple syrup, blackberries and just a splash of club soda. Enjoy and have a fabulous weekend!!!
