Mint Julep

Published: May 7, 2016 by Laura Lee · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

It's Kentucky Derby day! Obviously I had to post Mint Juleps! Unfortunately I am not attending the Derby this year, however I have in years past and it's always a blast! I will partake in any event that involves wearing a big floppy hat and drinking bourbon. Instead today I'll be going on a 90s themed bar crawl which should be equally as fun! But I'll sip on a Mint Julep as I crimp my hair and listen to TLC No Scrubs. 🙂

To make a Mint Julep muddle some mint leaves in the bottom of a glass (I used my copper cups) with some simple syrup and club soda. Fill cup with shaved ice then add your bourbon and stir. Top with a little more club soda. Garnish with a mint sprig and enjoy! Cheers!
