Soy-Ginger Glazed Grilled Chicken Wings

Published: Sep 5, 2016 by Laura Lee · This post may contain affiliate links · 1 Comment

I've always felt bittersweet about Labor Day weekend. Although it's awesome to have a nice long three-day weekend full of pool parties and cookouts, it also signifies the end of summer. I'm always sad to see summer come to an end, but I'm also always so excited for fall and football season. However, this year I'm not having the greatest weekend. I had to get my wisdom teeth out Friday after years of being told I wouldn't have to! So instead of boats and amazing barbecues I've been sipping on soup in bed watching Netflix. Although I did make this delicious Soy-Ginger Glazed Grilled Chicken Wing recipe last week to share with you while I was still able to eat solid food!

For this recipe, I buy about 5 lbs of chicken wings (fresh or frozen). In this case I used fresh. In a large bowl combine wings with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat. Heat grill to medium heat and brush grates with oil.

Grill wings, turning occasionally and moving to low heat if the skin is browning too quickly. You want to grill until cooked through and the skin is crisp and charred (about 30-35 minutes).

While your wings are grilling, prepare your Soy-Ginger sauce. In a small saucepan bring water, honey, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic to a boil. Stir to dissolve honey. Simmer until sauce has thickened (about 5-7 minutes). Strain through a sieve into a small bowl to remove solids. Sit aside to cool.

Once your wings are cooked through, remove to a large plate to cool. Once you've grilled your wings this way, you will never want them prepared any other way! You can either toss your wings with your sauce now and serve, or brush with glaze and then return to the grill until the glaze has caramelized to the wings (about 8-10 more minutes).

Try these Soy-Ginger Glazed Grilled Chicken Wings out for your Labor Day cookout this weekend! Enjoy!
